Grant Received for Summer 2025 ‘Community in Bloom’ program series

The ARQtist Collective has received a Community Arts grant from the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes for our inaugural “Community in Bloom” event series, to be hosted at ARQ during Summer 2025.

“Community Arts grants support arts and cultural activities of artists and organizations in service to residents in Cattaraugus, Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben, and Tioga counties. These activities increase the value of the arts as an integral part of the community and make the arts accessible to all.”

In 2021 our 2 acre sunflower field planting inspired album covers, live figure drawing groups (Cayuga Arts Collective, Trumansburg based), and multiple photography shoots. Our intention for 2025 is to coordinate more events and programming while the sunflowers and gardens at ARQ are in bloom this summer, and to use the funds from the Community Arts Grant to make access of the field accessible for a wider range of artistic requests and pursuits.

The ARTS Council awarded funds will support our offerings of three ‘Sunflower Eco-Art Therapy’ sessions led by Alex Van Nostrand, one ‘Weaving the Land’ workshop led by Zoë Van Nostrand, and two ‘Live Drawing Sessions’ hosted by the Cayuga Arts Collective - these six program will be offered to our community FREE OF CHARGE!

We are actively working to build out our calendar of events for this series, and will announce additional arts programming to be hosted at ARQ during “Community in Bloom” in early summer .
